Pray with Me: When Anxiety Makes It Hard to Rest
A one-minute prayer for anxious hearts, asking God for peace and the grace to take the next small step.

When worries follow us into the weekend
Saturday, 31 October 2026
Sometimes a quiet moment gives our worries room to grow louder. An unanswered message, a household bill, or a difficult conversation can leave us rehearsing tomorrow before today is finished.
We do not have to become calm before we pray. We can come to God just as we are. In Philippians 4:6–7, St Paul encourages us to bring our needs to God in prayer, trusting in his peace.
Pray with me
Heavenly Father,
you know the thoughts I keep circling back to and the fears I struggle to name. Receive me in this moment, exactly as I am.
Help me to loosen my grip on what I cannot control. Give me wisdom for what needs my attention, and patience for what cannot be settled today.
Lord Jesus, stay close when my heart feels restless. Help me to notice the ground beneath my feet, the kindness of another person, and the small good things still present in this day.
Holy Spirit, guide me towards the support I need. Give me courage to ask for help and grace to take one manageable step.
I place this day in your hands. Amen.
A gentle intention
Offer God one specific worry, then choose one small act of care: drink some water, step outside, or speak to someone you trust. Seeking support, including professional care when needed, is not a failure of faith.
You do not have to carry everything alone.
