Pray with Me: A Prayer for Times of Anxiety and Worry

A gentle prayer rooted in Philippians 4 and Matthew 6, entrusting our worries to God and asking for grace for the next small step.

Pray with Me: A Prayer for Times of Anxiety and Worry

When worry feels heavy

Some worries arrive before the day has even begun: an unpaid bill, a difficult conversation, a loved one’s health. We may trust God and still feel anxious. That struggle is not a failure of faith.

In Philippians 4:6–7, Saint Paul invites us to bring our needs to God in prayer, with thanksgiving. In Matthew 6:25–34, Jesus reminds us of the Father’s care and calls us to attend to today rather than carry tomorrow’s burdens all at once.

Neither passage asks us to pretend that life is easy. They invite us to place our real needs before a Father who loves us.

Pray with me

Heavenly Father, You know the worries I struggle to put into words. You see the thoughts that circle in my mind and the tiredness that follows me into the night.

I place before You what I cannot control. Help me to do what is mine to do, and to entrust the rest to Your care.

Lord Jesus, when tomorrow feels frightening, bring me back to the grace of this moment. Remind me that I am precious to the Father, even when I cannot feel His nearness.

Holy Spirit, steady my heart. Help me notice one gift with gratitude, ask for help when I need it, and take the next small step with courage.

May Your peace guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Stay with me through this day. Amen.

One gentle step

Name one worry before God, then choose one manageable action. If anxiety persists or disrupts daily life, seeking professional support is compatible with faith.

You do not have to face this alone.
